Decentralized browser Brave is currently the default browser on a phone from major smartphone manufacturer HTC, technology news outlet CNET rumored Dec. 11.

Founded in 1997, HTC may be a Taiwanese consumer electronics manufacturer that was the leading smartphone seller in the U.S. at the tip of 2010, consistent with TechCrunch. The company's market share began decreasing, once it trailed Apple, Samsung, and LG with a roughly six p.c market share within the U.S. in 2014. In 2017, HTC held 2.3 % of the smartphones market share, whereas in 2018 it supposedly controlled less than a 0.5 %.

Brave — an open-source blockchain-powered browser that blocks ads and web site trackers — can reportedly be pre-installed on the HTC Exodus 1, “the 1st native blockchain phone” with support for multiple blockchains, as well as Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) networks. The forthcoming project of HTC Exodus 1 was initially declared in May 2018.
