Failure to Protect User Data, Bithumb,Major Korean Crypto Exchange Prosecuted

Bithumb,South Korean crypto exchange has been prosecuted for its alleged failure to require adequate measures to safeguard personal data, that was later presumptively exploited by hackers to steal funds from the platform. The news was reported by Top Market Groupon June 19.

Prosecutors allege the information breach led on to the second hack moving the platform, during which virtually $7 million in user funds was stolen.
